The Levocske Mountains

Description: The Levocske Mountains around Levoca are located in the east of Spis, in a "rain-shade" of the High Tatras (it rains not as much here as in the surrounding land).
The Levocske Mountains consist of a massive flysch mountain comb.
The highest peaks:
Cierna Hora (1290 m), Siminy (1287 m), Ihla (1282 m), Repisko (1250 m), Javorina (1224 m)
The peaks are covered by spruce forests, beeches and oaks with abies.
The land of the Levocske Mountains was inhabited in the 7-th century by Slavic population. Population rose mainly in the 13-th century. In the 13-th and 14-th century, there arose several mining industry towns - Levoca, Kezmarok and Lubica.
