Slovak National Museum Martin is the oldest and largest part of the Slovak National Museum.
The museum was established in the 19th century.
The museum in Martin has collections of ethnography, archaeology, history, numismatics, art-history, art and sculpture, archiving and library from the whole Slovakia and from abroad. Nowadays, the museum has more than 150 000 artefacts.
At present, the museum is focused on the documentation of the development of folklore culture in Slovakia, Slovaks living abroad and ethno-museology from the oldest times to the present.
