Description: Nitra Castle is located on the rock, above a meander of the river Nitra.
Nitra Castle was well fortified in 13th century yet.
The castle has a preserved building - the Romanesque church of St. Emeram, the cathedral, the bishop's palace and the massive fortification with jutting bastions.
The buildings of Nitra Castle was rebuild several times and the last time in 17th century when the castle was fortified after battles with Turks.
Nitra Castle is a monument of the Slovak history.
